Welcome to the "Sponsor Cassandra!" website

This website has been set up to financially support Cassandra Graikowski-Hainsworth, a very promising female athlete, with her career in finswimming. Find out about Cassandra below and if you are so inclined, help her with a donation! But first some information on the exciting sport of finswimming:

"Finswimming is defined as the progression with a monofin or with two fins either on the surface or underwater, by means of the swimmers' muscular force only and without use of any mechanism, not even muscle-powered. For underwater disciplines with breathing equipment, only compressed-air sub-aqua equipment is allowed." [Source: WikiFin]

"Anyone who was ever witness to a fin swimmer sprint 50 meters gets why fin swimming is dubbed the "Formula One" of swimming. The speed is undeniably impressive! But it's not only that. Just like in the Formula One of motor sports, where elegance of race cars fascinates both fans and spectators just as much as speed, the elegance of a fin swimmer using a monofin is unrivaled. Like a dolphin, he undulates through the water and it's easy to imagine him breach like the sea mammal. He carves out a wake behind him like no other swimmer. His whole body becomes one dynamic wave that slinks through the water like an orca. Beauty and speed, just like in Formula One." [Source: Ezine Articles]
